Give Every Daily Article a Clear Scope Boundary

Published September 10, 2026.

Useful articles do not need to cover everything. They need to make their boundary visible so readers can judge whether the guidance fits their situation.

Define coverage before drafting

Name the audience, geography, time period, workflow stage, and tools that matter. Add explicit exclusions for adjacent questions that require different expertise or evidence.

Carry limits into the prose

Place important qualifications near the claims they constrain. A disclaimer at the end cannot repair an overbroad statement earlier. Link to a suitable resource when the reader’s next question falls outside the page.

Review for scope drift

During editing, flag universal words such as “always,” “everyone,” and “best.” Keep them only when the evidence supports that breadth. Otherwise, narrow the sentence to the conditions actually examined.

Store the boundary with the brief and revisit it during refreshes. Clear exclusions make an article more dependable, not less complete.
