An image can load correctly and still belong to the wrong article. Daily queues need both a delivery check and an identity check.
Verify the selected asset
Compare the image with the article title and brief. Confirm the asset is approved, has documented provenance, and does not imply a result the page never discusses. Reuse is acceptable when the site’s established system calls for it.
Inspect every surface
Open the hero image and the URLs declared for Open Graph and Twitter sharing. Confirm successful responses, expected file types, and readable crops at narrow and wide layouts.
Check the accessible context
Review alternative text and nearby captions. Describe useful information without repeating the headline or stuffing keywords. Decorative images should follow the site’s accessibility convention.
Record the public URLs in the release evidence. A local file and a passing build do not prove that an edge cache or metadata renderer serves the intended asset.
