Daily SEO checks lose value when the result is summarized as “looks fine.” Capture enough context that another person can repeat the observation without guessing what filters or version you saw.
Save the minimum bundle
Record the URL or report, observation time and timezone, comparison window, active filters, deployment SHA when relevant, and the specific result. Include a screenshot only when it adds information that text and exported values cannot preserve.
Separate fact from interpretation
Write “clicks fell in this filtered view” before proposing a cause. Note known changes and plausible explanations in a separate field. This prevents a hypothesis from becoming part of the historical measurement.
Make privacy part of the routine
Exclude credentials, personal contact data, and unnecessary customer records. Store evidence in the approved workspace with access appropriate to its contents.
Link the bundle from the daily ticket and name the next review date. Good evidence capture is intentionally small: enough to reproduce the check, not a dump of every available dashboard.
