A search performance review is most useful when it ends in a page-level decision. The routine below separates useful signals from speculation and keeps the action list manageable.
Choose the comparison
Use a consistent date range and compare with a relevant prior period. Review clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position together. A change in one metric does not explain the whole story.
Group by page job
Sort pages into new content, refreshed content, service pages, and supporting resources. Look for pages with meaningful impressions but weak click-through rate, and pages with declining coverage that deserve a factual review.
Inspect the page
Read the title, description, opening, headings, and links against the query pattern. Use the SEO metadata review checklist before changing metadata. Do not rewrite a page solely because one query moved.
Record the action
Log the page, evidence, proposed change, owner, and review date. One clear action is more valuable than a dashboard full of unresolved observations.
